Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

When looking back at my preliminary task I fully realise just how much I have learnt from camera angles to editing ,my media knowledge has vastly increased since then. Now that I look back I can see many things I could have improved in my preliminary task mainly my camera skills which with regular use and practice have dramatically increased since then but also my knowledge of camera shots and angles which now means the footage I shoot is vastly better than it was at the start of the year.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Technology was essential to the filming of my media product with none of this being possible without the flip cameras. If I could go back and start again and money was not an issue I would have definitely bought a better camera or a specialist camera for the night shots as I found the flip cameras although all-round affective were lacking when it came to shots with low visibility and low levels of light. These shots are key to the style of my horror film and therefore it made getting the right feel and right level of fear difficult.

To edit my film I used movie maker which although easy to use is far too basic ideally I would have used i movie on the macs but due to technical difficulty's where the Linux refused to load my footage i was left using movie maker with windows being the only programme accepting my footage.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Many low budget horror/realism specialist distributors would be very eager to help distribute my media product as its clearly going to be a box office hit up there with the likes of Saw and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My Media product only has one social group present with Luis representing a typical yet mature teenager he represents the characters age well through mise en scene and the way he acts.My product represents teenagers as mature and capable to give a correct representation of them and to also draw in a younger audience.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Attracting Audience

To attract my target audience of over sixteens who enjoy the horror genre in my intro I have used many shots that are uncommon in  the genre with quite an uncommon mise en scene which I feel will draw the audience in as it will simultaneously intrigue the audience while also making them feel comfortable in there choice of viewing my video as there are enough traditional traits to not put off the more closed minded members of the audience.
